Capture Media Co. is a small media business based in Barrie, Ontario. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and how to reach us with any privacy questions.

01Information We Collect

We collect two kinds of information, and both are limited to what we actually need.

  • Information you give us. When you submit a booking request or contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, the service you're interested in, the property address or service area, your preferred timeline, and anything you write in the message field. If you contact us directly by email, phone, or social media, we keep that correspondence.
  • Basic website analytics. Like most websites, ours records general usage data — pages visited, approximate location (city or region), device and browser type, referring website, and time spent on the site. We use Google Analytics for this. It's collected through cookies and similar technologies, and we use it in aggregate to understand which pages are useful.

We do not knowingly collect information from children, and we don't ask for sensitive personal information such as financial account details or government ID numbers through this website.

02How We Use It

Information you submit is used to run our business and serve you:

  • To respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote, and schedule a shoot
  • To deliver your finished photos, video, and other media
  • To send booking confirmations, preparation details, invoices, and follow-ups related to your project
  • To keep normal business records, including for accounting and tax purposes
  • To understand how the website is used so we can improve it
  • To market our own services, including occasional updates — you can opt out of these at any time

03Advertising and Connected Tools

We advertise our own services online. To do that, we use connected business tools and advertising platforms — including Meta's advertising platform (Facebook and Instagram), Google, and similar services — which may receive website activity data and business information from us.

We use these connections solely to manage and measure our own advertising campaigns: reaching people who may be interested in real estate media, understanding which ads lead to enquiries, and avoiding wasted ad spend. We do not use these tools to sell, rent, or trade your information, and we don't run advertising on behalf of anyone else. Each platform handles the data it receives under its own privacy terms.

If you'd rather not be tracked for advertising purposes, most browsers let you block cookies, and both Meta and Google provide ad preference controls in your account settings.

04We Don't Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Full stop.

We do share limited information with the service providers that make our business run — for example, the form service that delivers your enquiry to our inbox, our email and scheduling tools, the online gallery we use to deliver finished media, our payment processor, and the analytics and advertising platforms described above. These providers only receive what they need to perform their function for us. We may also disclose information where we're required to by law.

05Photos, Video, and Property Media

Media we produce for a client is delivered to that client and handled according to our booking terms. We may feature completed work in our portfolio, on social media, or in advertising unless a client asks us not to. If you'd prefer your property or project not appear in our marketing, just let us know and we'll remove it.

06How Long We Keep It

We keep enquiry and client information for as long as needed to serve you and to meet our business and legal record-keeping obligations. Analytics data is retained according to the default retention settings of the analytics platform. If you'd like your information removed from our records, contact us and we'll take care of what we're not legally required to keep.

07Your Choices

  • Access or correction. You can ask us what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it.
  • Deletion. You can ask us to delete your information, subject to any records we're required to retain.
  • Marketing opt-out. You can ask to be removed from marketing emails at any time.
  • Cookies. You can block or clear cookies through your browser settings. Parts of the site may work differently if you do.

08Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, including using reputable service providers and limiting access to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage online is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security — but we treat your information the way we'd want ours treated.

09Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our business or the tools we use change. The current version always lives on this page.
